The traditional Japanese culture area In this area are gathered all the associations proposing typical traditional activities from Japan. Among others, visitors will be given a chance to try their hands at Bonsai cares, calligraphy (painting of Japanese kanji’s with a brush), Go game (a strategy game aiming at surrounding one’s opponent), origami’s (paper folding), Ikebana (Japanese flower art), martial art and Sumie (traditional Japanese painting). |
Latest News For its 4th edition, the Asianim Festival will take place on October 24th-25th in the “Palais des Congrès” of Liege. Considering the success met by the 3 former conventions, the Asianim team is pleased to propose a brand new edition with even more activities and exhibitors, in an even wider space. Asianim’s main goal is to give the attendees – aficionados as well as amateurs –an opportunity to discover all the faces of the Japanese culture, from its most traditional aspects to its many entertainment possibilities. Therefore, each visitor should find one ore more activity which meets its centres of interests. Activities will be divided in 3 areas: a traditional Japanese culture area, a contemporary Japanese culture area and a shopping area. Stands of all 3 sections will be opened uninterruptedly for all the duration of the festival, so to give the visitors the possibility to meet the many animating professionals and association members . In the mean time, animations, meetings and debates will be held in the conference room. |

The contemporary Japanese culture area In this section, attendees will be given access to activities defining the contemporary Japan, such as manga, J-music, karaoke, fanzines (publications of amateur drawers of manga’s), video games, a “Dance Dance Revolution” block (dance competition on electronic pads), battles in inflatable sumo tori suits…in the end, 2 days of full animation with quiz and anime screenings, and last but not least, a huge cosplay contest which will take place on Sunday afternoon. |
